The vision of the centre is to build up a cadre of natural resource/environmental economists, scientists, policy makers, planners and administrators which will discuss ,assess and research the issues confronting environmental management and development. The centre will act as the analytical and advisory body for the management of environmental issues considering the wider dimensions of economic growth with social equity, justice and sustainability.The centre is envisaged to play a catalytic role in the sustainable economic development of the state of Kerala.
